Pakistani fielders are at it again… dropping catches like they know best… this is so frustrating… PCB even called up the greatest fielder ever Jonty Rhodes to help Pakistani fielders in eliminating this habit, but this is going nowhere… I know you can’t get rid of these things all together but what happened yesterday in Lords’ was inexplicable, they dropped really simple catches.
Pakistan paid the price for five dropped catches as England recovered from a late morning wobble to reach 309-3 on the first day of the first npower Test at Lord’s.
Alastair Cook (101 not out) and Paul Collingwood (109 not out) put on an unbeaten record fourth-wicket partnership against Pakistan of 221 after the hosts had slumped to 88 for three just before lunch, but they were greatly helped by Pakistan’s sloppiness in the field.
‘Catches win matches’ is a cricket’s cliché and an absolutely true one. I believe that if our fielders hang onto their catches and improve their running between the wickets (especially Yousaf) then they will surely be World Beaters. I know Opening has also been a problem area in recent past but it is not as big an issue as our fielding.
‘Boom Boom Afridi’
Afridi’s slogfest was electrifying as he helped Pakistan win a Twenty20 match against an International XI played at Oval on 10th July. Afridi hit first three balls of first over by Zaheer Khan out of the park. Afridi scored 41 off just 12 balls.

With every waking breath I breathe
I see what life has dealt to me
With every sadness I deny
I feel a chance inside me die
Give me a taste of something new
To touch to hold to pull me through
Send me a guiding light that shines
Across this darkened life of mine
Breathe some soul in me
Breathe your gift of love to me
Breathe life to lay ‘fore me
Breathe to make me breathe
For every man who built a home
A paper promise for his own
He fights against an open flow
Of lies and failures, we all know
To those who have and who have not
How can you live with what you’ve got?
Give me a touch of something sure
I could be happy evermore
Breathe some soul in me
Breathe your gift of love to me
Breathe life to lay ‘fore me
To see to make me breathe
Breathe your honesty
Breathe your innocence to me
Breathe your word and set me free
Breathe to make me breathe
This life prepares the strangest things
The dreams we dream of what life brings
The highest highs can turn around
To sow love’s seeds on stony ground
Breathe
Breathe
Breathe some soul in me
Breathe your gift of love to me
Breathe life to lay ‘fore me
To see to make me breathe
Breathe your honesty
Breathe your innocence to me
Breathe your word and set me free
Breathe to make me breathe

I don’t know what you are thinking lately
But I need to tell you that I can be anybody you wish
I know you know that I can be ‘the one’ for you
But there are doubts… I understand
It’s fact that you can’t realize all of your dreams
The world is a hard place to be at…
But all I want you to know is that
I am ‘the one’ you can trust…
I am ‘the one’ who believes in you…
I am ‘the one’ who will be with you in ‘thick & thin’
But the thing is… this is not about me but you
You complete me.
